southern red velvet cake
Made to help celebrate the birthday of a colleague. It’s a layer cake with cream cheese frosting — I had planned to do something more elaborate with the fruit, but ran out of time. Which is to say, I need to make scones or something to use up all of the blueberries I have left over.

Thanks. In the end, I was satisfied with the minimalist look, but had initially had visions of covering the entire top with fruit, and also putting a layer of fruit in between the middle (between the two cake layers).

i´ve never been good at cake decoration … always ends up looking haphazard … so i´m fully impressed by the neatness and quality of the look.
of course, a fully covered top and fruit in between would also be lovely!
