elevators

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007

I’m in a tall, big-city office building, and have just exited a big plushy office on an upper floor. I’ve learned that, in order to satisfy some ridiculous bureaucratic requirement, I need to get some sort of extensive medical exam done. Right now. I go out to the big bank of elevators and wait. But each time an elevator arrives, the doors close just as I near the threshold. I run from elevator to elevator, just missing the doors each time. I grow frustrated.

[note: I don’t know why it doesn’t occur to me to take the stairs. In a non-dream situation like this I would always think to take the stairs.]
